The stake outside shareholders hold in subsidiaries a parent consolidates but doesn’t fully own; also called non-controlling interest. Added in the EV bridge because consolidated EBITDA includes 100% of those subsidiaries.
Example
Parent owns 80% of a subsidiary; the other 20% is carried as a $2B non-controlling interest and added to EV.
